Recently when on final approach in the B747-400, PFE reduces air speed down to 140k and I quickly have to increase it to 180k or risk stalling. Is there a way to override this?

Yes, it's in the latest user guide (release 1.12) that came with PFE release 2.12... see section 7.3.4

The full name of the file is "PF_Emulator.ini" and its located in the main PFE program files folder. You may need to turn off "Hide extensions for known file types" which is in the Windows "folder options" if you still cant see the full file names.
